Project IT engineer

Job Description


As a project IT engineer, you will be responsible for project management with respect to development and implementation of Cargobox IT projects.
You'll have a lot of responsibilities and it may come in different forms. It can range from directing a team of individuals and keeping track of a project's progress and status, up to evaluating economic factors derived from new systems and writing detailed reports. Essentially, you'll oversee the various stages of development for a variety of Cargobox products and projects. You must make sure that progress meets the time and budget schedules, and that the project works as a whole. Generally, you'll get involved at every level of the project from concept to implementation and everything in between. You may also have several projects on the go at the same time, all at different stages of development.

Your routine duties will vary, but include:

  • Ensuring a project is fit-for-purpose and adheres to the project budget and schedule.
  • Accounting for engineering tasks to ensure they meet contract requirements.
  • Developing IT project-specific procedures for the work to be carried out.
  • Interpreting clients' requirements, identifying and addressing design parameters.
  • Solving engineering problems and ensuring solutions are implemented.
  • Monitoring justifications for contractual variations during projects are maintained.
  • Evaluating, organizing and prioritizing work flow within the overall project schedule.
  • Liaising and managing third party contractors, to ensure deliverables are fit for purpose.
  • Drafting contract administration correspondence.


Skills & Interests

  • To be our successful candidate project IT engineer, you'll need to be/have:
  • Knowledge of a broad range of subjects, from IT to materials and technology.
  • Excellent in maths, science, and IT.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A good team player in a small team
  • The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly
  • The capacity to analyze large amounts of data and assess solutions
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.
  • Fluent in English; German and Dutch preferred.
  • A Master or Bachelor Degree in IT.
