Cargobox is a patented innovative Container System for controlled and secured packaging, forwarding and distribution of valuable goods along today's global supply chains. Cargobox is based on the cradle-to-grave philosophy and includes real-time visibility, E-docs support, alert and alarm messages and more. It consists of three interconnected major components:

1. A sturdy, collapsible and durable yet lightweight container
2. An "intelligent" closing strip called the Lockbar
3. A RFID technology based IT security system for real-time and worldwide visibility

Together these three major components form a dedicated system that provides overall cost savings, efficiency improvements, enhanced safety and security and an attractive carbon footprint. The Cargobox Container System is the intelligent answer to the challenges in the air cargo industry, and blends state-of-the-art technology with the most recent requirements into what can truly be called an "intelligent container".

The design of the Cargobox is based on high-grade composite sandwich panels, which are extremely resistant to wear and tear, and aramid fibers, which are the functional part of bulletproof vests. It can be assembled and disassembled without any tooling and contains a closing strip, the Lockbar, with an electro-mechanical lock. In the Lockbar embedded information system including an RFID tag are installed, which in combination with the ICT System provides real-time tracking and tracing. Only with the designated one-time security code that can be activated after authentication by the consignee, the Cargobox can be unlocked and opened.

The current Cargobox is the first member of a family of conveyance units enabling efficient, fast and cost-effective (air) cargo transportation. It demonstrates the way the Cargobox Company deploys its knowledge and expertise in fiber reinforced composites and combines it with available RFID technology to provide control and real-time monitoring of shipments along the global supply chain.
